MAJAN Election: Jerry Aguigbo Emerges As New MAJAN President

The Maritime Journalist Association of Nigeria, MAJAN, after the demise of its pragmatic and charismatic leader, Ray Ugochukwu , has elected new executive members to over see the affairs of the association.
Jerry Aguigbo of Today News emerged as the new President of the association after successfully passing through rigorous screening and also unopposed in the election conducted at the association’s secretariat on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Other members of the executives are Mr Ranmilowo Ojalumo of factual Nigeria as Vice President; Udeme Clement as Secretary; Frank Odinukaeze of premium News Daily as PRO; Silas Onuoha of Financial Updates as Financial Secretary; Love Oyedokun of TV News as Treasurer and Okezie Nnadi of Maritime Connect Online as Provost of the association.
The oath of office was administered on the newly elected Executive members by Mr. Ebenezer William of Maritime Connect former reporter with business and Maritime West Africa Magazine.
Aguigbo in his appreciation message promised to take the association to the next level and also deploy what he learnt from the former president Mr Ray Ugochukwu who passed on six months ago.
He thanked all those that participated in the election and promised to deliver more and hope for successful completion of the four years tenure.
He however urged members to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties and assured members of the association ‘s support at all times.
