MCOE Training Center: A World -Class Facility For Growth of Nigerian Maritime Industry - MD/CEO NSML

NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) has urged stakeholders in the maritime and oil and gas industries to make use of the recently accredited training center as part of its efforts to increase capacity and foster professionalism.
Abdulkadir Ahmed, Managing Director/CEO of NSML, noted in an interview with reporters in Lagos that the recently authorized MCOE is outfitted with a cutting-edge facility that satisfies the highest requirements of equipment.
He emphasized the significance of the MCOE providing essential training programmes for the professional development of the company's staff, pointing out that the certification is proof of the unceasing efforts to implement the changes necessary for the expansion of the country's marine and oil and gas industries.
Recently, the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (UK MCA) had accredited the Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE) for two courses: the STCW 2010 Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and Basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations.
He stated that the center is available to everyone who needs the training required to operate effectively in the marine industry and extended an invitation to business owners and private investment participants in need of training to make use of it.
Ahmed emphasized that mariners can benefit from courses required for their individual career advancement, highlighting that MCOE is positioned to become the premier full-fledged maritime training institution in Africa. Ahmed focused on the state-of-the-art technology for capacity building.
The Managing Director stressed the significance of money, standards, and expertise in propelling the expansion of the industries in keeping with the company's mission to help the development of the Nigerian marine sector.
In order to achieve sustainable growth, safety, and operational excellence in the marine sector, Ahmed stated that a comprehensive strategy that extends beyond funding is required.
