Blue Economy Minister, IGP,  NPA MD to explore Trade Facilitation Through National Single Window System

The Maritime Journalists' Association of Nigeria, MAJAN, is set to host a one-day seminar titled "Transforming Trade Facilitation: - The Role of National Single Window in Enhancing Economic Efficiency" on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the prestigious Rockview Hotel, Park Lane, Apapa, Lagos, starting at 11:00 AM prompt.

The seminar aims to explore the concept of the National Single Window, NSW, its objectives, and its potential to streamline trade processes while enhancing economic efficiency in Nigeria. 

The Key areas of discussion at the  seminar will include the goals of the NSW project, stakeholder roles, implementation strategies, and its alignment with both national and regional trade facilitation initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area ,AfCFTA.

The seminar will be graced by prominent figures in the maritime industry, as Hon. Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Blue Economy, as the Special Guest of Honour., Mr. Tola Fakolade, Director of the National Single Window Project, as the Keynote Speaker.

Barr. Pius O. Akutah, Executive Secretary/CEO, Nigeria Shippers Council, Dr. Dayo Mobereola Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Charles Orbi, Assistant Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service Zone 'A, Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police.

Attendees stands  to gain insights into: 
the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders in the implementation of the NSW, the critical steps involved in the design, deployment, and management of the NSW platform, case studies of successful NSW implementations in other countries, how the NSW contributes to seamless cargo clearance procedures, port operations, and regional integration.

The event will also delve into the "potentials of the International Cargo Tracking Note (ICTN)" and its implications for the Nigerian port industry.

According to the statement issued by Public Relations Officer of MAJAN , Frank Odinukaeze , stated that thehere seminar will serve as a platform for stakeholders across government, the private sector, and service providers to collaborate, share knowledge, and chart a path toward economic growth through trade facilitation reforms".
