AREFFN :  TIN CAN ISLAND PORT CHAPTER APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE

... As Capacity Training tops Agenda


The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, AREFFN, Tin Can Island Port Chapter has appointed new executives to pilot the affairs of the association.


The Chapter appointed  Chinedu Ukachukwu as  Chairman; Abdullahi Namama as Vice Chairman; Oke Ucheya as Secretary and Musa Gbadamosi as Public Relations Officer.


While Charles Nnaji was appointed as the Treasurer; Etta Ekpeyong as the Woman Leader; Odushola Justina as Welfare Officer and Margaret Ego Eberechukwu as welfare Officer 2.


The National Secretary General , AREFFN, Mr. Frank Obiekezie while presenting letters of appointment to the newly appointed executive implored  AREFFN members to threw its weight behind training and retraining on freight forwarding practice for members 

 


He stated  that the new executives have to play a major role by making sure its live up to expectations, over the operational activities at Tin Can Island Port. 


 

Obiekezie insisted that the new executives are to inject fresh ideas and innovation to the Association for effective performance pointing out that AREFFN is not contesting with other associations in the freight forwarding sub sector.


 

He said  AREFFN as a registered association and accredited body under the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding In Nigeria, CRFFN, must  bring close, effective interaction and engagement with customs on trade facilitation adding that capacity building must top its agenda for members. 


 

The newly appointed Chairman, Tin Can Island Port Chapter of AREFFN, Mr. Ukachukwu pledged to embark on training and retraining of members at the chapter level and to regularly engaged Customs, stakeholders in order to promote international trade.


 

His word “I will add more strength to my predecessor and other collective ideas by my executives will be looked into in the next three months to achieve greatness.
